Entrepreneurial Self-Assessment
Is being an entrepreneur for you? It could be, since all you have to do is want the American Dream and start a business of your own. Doing so provides you the opportunity to be your own boss and possibly enjoy the potential benefits of independence and financial reward. Of course, not everyone wants to start their own business, but if it suits you, don’t miss the opportunity to find the best use of yourself in reaching your dreams as an entrepreneur.
Self-assessments as this are tools for you to use in learning more about a certain subject and yourself. This one provides an individual with the possibility of learning more about Entrepreneurial Competencies and how they compare to them, and what their possible entrepreneurial strengths and weaknesses may be.
This self-assessment, though unscientific, is based upon related entrepreneur research and case studies from knowledgeable individuals and organizations around the world. This non-scientific tool is designed with the purpose of assessing your responses to specific statements related to entrepreneurial competencies in 9 areas: 1) Strategic, 2) Commitment, 3) Conceptual, 4) Opportunity, 5) Organizing, 6) Relationship, 7) Learning, 8) Personal Motivation, and 9) Technical.
To take the assessment, respond to each statement by selecting the most accurate response. For example, you would select "Totally agree" if you strongly identify with the statement and “Somewhat agree” if somewhat less so. Likewise you would answer "Somewhat disagree" or "Totally disagree" if you do not identify with the statement. For each statement, choose the number that best describes your opinion. Use the entire scale as much as possible, as always answering "2" or "3" will not provide you the most benefit from this tool. There is no right or wrong answer but your honest opinion is what’s important. Once you have completed, your answers will be compiled, and an assessment provided for you to consider. The assessment provides a percentage score in each of the entrepreneurial competency areas.
But remember, this should be used as a tool to provide you information and food for thought about the potential characteristics of entrepreneurs; and help you determine if you have more interest in starting a business as an entrepreneur. If that is the case, you will find product and service offerings on our website that provide a pathway for you to learn more and support you in your objectives.
This self-assessment includes 54 questions and should take an individual about 10 minutes to complete.
